Opportunities Through Sport Programme

This new foundation was launched last Autumn. One of the Foundations aims is to support projects that give opportunities for disabled people or those that are disadvantaged in order to help them fulfil their potential, increase their confidence and develop personal and life skills through the medium of sport.
Grants will normally be mainly for capital projects and will be one-off though the building of new facilities will not normally be considered. Revenue funding will be considered if it is key to and established project's continuing success or survival or it is a brand new project that your organisation would like to start.

The Foundation is interested in sporting projects that:

  • Provide a focus for skills development and confidence building through sport
  • Have a strong training/educational theme
  • Provide sporting and recreational equipment to disadvantaged or disabled people
  • Have a high degree of community involvement
  • Are run by the end users of the projects
  • Engage children that may be at risk from crime, exclusion or addiction

The Foundation does not fund vehicles, holidays or expeditions.
